Medial entropion is common in the Shih Tzu. What is the solution? Surgery to roll out the eyelid is effective. | ||
Very few Singapore Shih Tzu owners
are aware that |
||
The dog came in for
ant-bite edema of his upper lip. I took the pictures
for educational purposes and to show one intern, Tanya
before she goes for her first year vet studies what is
the meaning of "entropion". She needs more hands-on
experience, rather than watching me from the
sidelines. So, I asked her to "roll out" the eyelid
for me to take pictures. She did it. I took the
picture. This Shih Tzu dislikes eye contact with the
photographer and so, out of 37 pictures, only the ones
here are useful. I hope Tanya remembers this case when she studies "entropion" in the vet school in the next 5 years. All my clients are quite happy when I inform them that the interns need hands-on touching their dogs to gain practical knowledge.
