- 2568. Chronic gingivitis of carnaissal tooth (4th premolar) leads
to root abscess. Pus from the root then seeps out into the
facial area just below the eye. The wound is also known as a
fistula. This wound may be mistaken by the vet as a traumatic wound. However,
it does not heal despite treatment. After the extraction of the carnaissal
tooth, the wound heals rapidly within 7 days and the "magical"
outcome impresses the owner.
